The Drweca is the right tributary of Vistula, flowing from Garb Lubawski, part of the Wzgorza Dylewskie hills. It flows through the Pojezierze Ilawskie lake region, the Drweca valley and the Kotlina Torunska valley. This is the only river in Poland to be that long and to have a natural park all along its banks.
This is a river within the shortest distance from Warsaw to have trout and salmon. It takes 2.5 hours to get here from Warsaw. Since the end of December, trout and salmon start to swim from their spawning grounds. The season starts on January 1st and lasts till the end of March.
Unlike rivers flowing out of the sea, the average weigh of fish in the Drweca is much bigger.
Fish weighing 2-4 kg are a norm. For several years now, the Drweca has had plenty of salmon whose sizes are impressive. Fish weighing 6-8 kg are not rare. Drweca is a big and deep river. There are sections where it resembles a mountain river. It’s hard to fish there because of the masses of carried water.

I have been interested in angling since he was 10 years old. At the beginning I would catch whitefish. Then, there was time for prey-fish. Sander and pike fishing has become my passion. But to be honest, I understood what real angling passion means when I caught my first trout. It happened on the Drweca river, the trout was 82cm long and weighed 4 kg.
